Default I bet people get this alot... Boscs...

So my lil DAve is still a cute smexi beastie, but hes getting MEAN

I'm finding it really hard to handle him as he is tail whipping loads and biting LOTS and I don't want to stress him out...

When I do manage to get him out, he randomly bite/starts running.

Even though he used to snuggle on my lap quite contently, is he just being a stropy git? LOL

I was thinking of getting some handling gloves and just braving through it and make him know that his biting and stuff aren't effecting me?

I've been trying to feed him up just incase hes thinking i'm food

Oh and hes only about 9-10inches so quite young still!

Thanks if anyone can help

If you want him to get used to you try holding a bowl full of morios in front of him and let him eat from it, it seemed to work with mine but I can't really tell you how well it works seeing as both mine are now 6ft under cause of my uncle or my mums friend. Anyway for the meantime I would try to handle him a bit less but try spend a bit more time with him, I'am sure some other monitor keepers will give you some tips on how to help calm him down, Taxemic seems to have a fairly tame monitor so hopefully he will come along and help.

With young boscs the best thing to do is use a hands off approach. What i would do is not handle him, only go in to change his water etc. then after a while he will stick around whilst your there... then hopefully he will take food out of your hand and so on..

They are very intelligent lizards and trust needs to be built up.

It may take a very long time but it will pay off in the end.

Good sound advice for a young bosc Getting him to take food from tongs is quite a good one as well.... although at some point you might go through a stage where he attacks the tongs thinking there food.
