Default Questions about a Leo morph

I need to be taught to suck eggs, I'm afraid.

Which is the morph that is white with the typical black spots, like a snow leopard? Is it Snow? Mack Snow?

We saw a gem snow the other day that was beautiful. How do you tell the difference between these as there is also the pure white, no pattern, which is different.. what is that called?

We want to eventually get a black-spotted white leo. Are they easy to find?

Sorry. :o

There are 3 (maybe 4???) snow genes in Leopard Geckos. Mack snow, TUG snow and Gem snow.
The homozygous form of Mack snow is called a Supersnow, this is a typical white with black spots.
Mack snows, Gen snows and TUG snows can all be very white as well, but tend to have typical patterning.

Hereis a pic of our Supersnow:

Where did you see a Gem snow? They are pretty rare over here. You will usually find Mack snow/Supersnows here.

There are a few white with black spots depending on how much you want to pay. For a basic its a mack snow they can be black and white but most have yellow on them too now. For more money you can get snows and supersnows. Same goes for the white paterness ones you want. They are called blizzards. You can get cheaper end blizzards which may show some yellow or brown. If you want white thats a blazing blizard and a little more money. Or the top end white gecko morphs are Diablo blancos and they are expensive. x

Sounds like your talking about super snow.
They are the most snow leopard looking ones.

Thanks for your replies guys, they're really helpful.

We're most interested in the typical black spot patterning with pure white underneath, ie. (I think) Supersnow.

Are they around a fair bit?

MrMike, I only saw a Gem Snow on an Internet Pic. It was gorgeous, but yeah, I get the opinion it was American-bred.

How would you achieve a Gem snow if breeding?

You'd have to have a Gem snow to start.
And as its dominant Gem x normal will give 50/50 chance, but then decrease the quality of the snows.

So in that case, the very first gem snow must've occurred by accident when breeding other snows?
