When i got mine (i know not ideal but it worked) he came in a cotton bag journey took about 3 hours kept him the bag on my knee and had the heaters on in the car (not red hot just quite warm) and he was fine

As long as you're not doing it commercially you don't need any paperwork or anything to transport them.
I personally like to keep my reptiles dark and cool when being transported - that way they just go to sleep and miss the stress of the journey. If you keep them warm and awake, they are likely to be stressed at being confined. For most lizards, if you are at a comfortable temperature in the car then it will be tolerable for them - depending on size, put them either in a small box with some paper / kitchen roll, or a cotton bag, or even a duvet cover for large monitor species. Make sure they are secure and that whatever they are in isn't going to fall over / shift around too much during transit. |
