Default Leo hatchling - is it a first?!

We have been working on something for a while... and last night she hatched!

We put pictures of our REAL gecko on here recently, well as a parallel project we were working on something else, and this morning hatched our first Eclipse-eyed Super-hypo! We've been peering at her eyes for ages making sure they really look black, and are certain they actually are!

She is from a snake-eyed Sunglow and a Super-hypo het eclipse, so definitely a Super hypo.

We are hoping her eyes stay fairly full but won't mind if they end up as snake-eyes one bit! We haven't heard of any being produced before but haven't really looked either to be honest, so any news of others would be nice!

Here she is!

As a bonus, when feeding the others we had some mealies left over so chucked some in with her, and she marched over and ate them, less than 24h old! Pretty placid thing too!

Hope you like the pics!

They do look black on hatching often, but eclipse lacks any definition you might see on a normal eye, this is the eye of a SH hatchling we had last year -

very dark and looks black till you look up close.

Also we noticed some of her toes abruptly turn white, not sure if its directly related like with some eclipses but nice anyway!

Congrats on your hatchling!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone!
