Default Blatta Lateralis (Turkistan Roach)

have been looking into breeding these for my beardie I'm getting and wondering how easy they are to work with?

they look like fast little things and I'm not sure how I would pick them up...
not too keen on picking them up by hand, but will if I have to...

also can Chameleons eat them? as I have a friend who has a cham and I could give her some if I end up with too many.

Thanks,
Peter

i use blaptica dubai. Dead easy to work with. I dont handle them, just shake a couple off an egg cart into a jug and pour the jug into my beardies bowl

I was initially going to use dubia, but need them to reproduce quicker.

I spose that is a good idea, just shaking some off the egg crate,
thanks for that

I breed these for all my lizards & they love them. I did used to breed dubia however found that some of my leos wernt too keen on them. I use tweezers, or failing that my hands to catch them. They are fairly fast when they get going but IMO no faster than brown crickets.

I dont keep chams anymore myself but I have given a few of these to a friend who does & his yemens seemed to love them.

I absolutely LOVE red runners compared to the alternatives.

They're calmer and do not go pinging about like lobster roaches do, and although they are apparently fast we have no trouble managing them in their colony tub.

I would use the "grab the egg crate and shake" method to feed them out too. Or get a paper towel tube, block one end with balled-up paper or something, then put that in the tub; when you want to feed some out, grab the tube and tap some roaches out of it into the beardie's bowl. You will want a deep ceramic bowl to feed from - or feed in a separate feeding tub.
