I've heard the arm waving is female submissive behaviour. And the head bobbing is male dominance behaviour.

But...I could be wrong.

It's not just to do with breeding really, being submissive can be about anything, be it territory, food, or partners.

he does puff his beard out and puff his stomach out daily though.
he seems to do this when he's hungry or if he's been woken up early.
he's a little git.

As far as I know waving is submission and bobbing is aggression I don't think its regulated by sex but males tend to do it more. My 9 week old baby waves lots too and bobs every now and again aswell as puffs out his little beard lol! But then again my adult male only used to wave as a baby, he's never shown any aggression. So you may never see bobbing :P

My Beardie always bobs his head. He never really does it at me, mainly my mother or father.

Also he seems to do it quite often after he's moved to another part of his viv as if to say "Yes, this is still mine".

Only puffed his beard out once at me before.

But he's never agressive, he's a little wuss really
