Default a Dice with Death

Well I was poo picking in the collared viv this morning, tea strainer at the ready, and Arthur decided as normal that he would take the opportunity to climb up my hair and sit on my head, no doubt scanning the room for predators. The collared viv sits at waist height, and on top of it sits the viv with the timor monitor in it.

Unwittingly, Stu my other half had left the timor viv doors open a tad to help air it, the new substrate is still a bit damp and the glass steams, so we do this whenever the monitor is asleep. Anyway, you guessed it, Arthur saw the open door, and jumped from my head into the monitor viv. I couldnt see the monitor (its a 7ft viv), and arthur was pedalling around inside on his back legs, thinking all his christmases had come at once !!! My heart was in my mouth, I actually thought I was going to vomit, and he disappeared behind the log that the timor most often uses as a hidey hole.

We managed to get him out unscathed, I literally just pulled out all the wood at the one end, and hoped he wasnt stupid enough to run into any of the hides. Luckily we know if you move around too quickly they play dumb and freeze, in the hope that you'll not see them, which was exactly what he did, thus I was able to lift out the log that he was sitting on. He's a VERY lucky lizard, I cant beleive he didnt get eaten in there. Its unusual for the timor to be hiding at this time of day, but thankfully someone was watching over us this morning.

Stuart is still alive........just. And I have an appointment with the optician this afternoon. GRRRR

Yea he was lucky, lol. I really was so horrified at the thought of it I could just as easily have thrown up and passed out as yank the wood out of there, lol. He's back in his viv now, completely oblivious to it all, dragging his bum around in the sand in an attempt to impress Maggie, who BTW doesnt look amused, lol
