I haven't voted as I've only ever owned a bosc so can't say for sure. But know people who have had both and B&W tegus (Argentine NOT colombian) are more tolerant. I have handled a friend's large adult argentine and that was as dopey as anything. My bosc is handleable, I wouldn't say tame as in bearded dragon, but I can do anything I want with him (if necessary).

I voted boscs (though i am biased as ive never had tegus) but tegus never really appealed to me. Boscs are potentially friendly, highly entertaining and have brilliant personalities.

Tegus always look too fat when they get to adulthood, I think thats what puts me off them, because they seem to look slow and inactive because of their size. Boscs have beautiful posture and are great to watch and handle.

Another reptile I think are nice that are smaller though are blue tongue skinks, beautiful but strange to look at with a touch of attitude.

They're all good choices though but I think there are significant differences between personality and overall qualities that suit different people and you should try visit pet shops that have them and have a proper look and handle and see what u prefer between them rather than everyone elses favourite. There are considerably more bosc owners on the forum than B+W tegus.

hands down, a blk& wht tegu. oh yea, no question about it. i've kept many of both and it's not even a decision to me. talk to some tegu people. reguardless of peoples opinions, a tegu will not dissapoint you.(a bosc is a savannah monitor over there isn't it?)

yeh habu its a savannah monitor

guess it depends how much time you want to put in aswell, ive heard tegus are generally much better to begin with handling-wise so u dont have to go through as much stress in that sense. However I quite enjoy the taming bit
