Default building my first viv wold like some advise

hi

i am building my first viv just wondered how many air holes i should have on it want to get a leo to put in it

any advice you can share is more than welcome

im building my leo viv at the moment, and the number of air holes needed will depend on the size of the viv and the size of each hole. im going to put a fair few in as it helps to keep humidity low, but make sure the holes are small enough to prevent any insect prey escaping

general rule is 1 vent per foot in length.

I think you need a minimum of 1 vent per foot wide.

thanks i have the round caravan vents if you know which ones i mean its only going to be a small viv for a baby leo so i can make all my mistakes on this one then in 4 to 6 months i will build a bigger one any thing else i need to know? thanks again

Youll need some aquarium silicone and the runners which i could not find anywhere local so had to buy of here.

If your building a wooden viv then alot of people use it to seal the inside of the viv where all the joints are.

Id say lino, tiles or kitchen towels.

kitchen roll or news paper but deffo not sand cause of the risk of impaction which is wen you rep accidently eats sand it clogs up there insides which will be fatell
