Default advice/help required

I am a first time owner of a bearded dragon , Named him Webster, but I have a feeling he is a She!!!

Over the last week she has become very quiet, she is still eating when she emerges from her hideout but then retreats back after only a few hours. Her stool motions seem to have slowed as well, I feed her a well balanced diet of Brown crickets and veg which comprises of Rocket salad Parsley, shredded carrot, water cress, the occasionaly Dandelion flower and today she has had her first taste of a little apple and grape. Could she have gone into hibernation mode? can anyone confirm this.

I doubt hibernation mode this time of year.

She has a five foot tank which I use a mixture of desert sand/calisand on feeding her I encourage her to take the crickets from a dish so as not to cause any impactation from the sand should she ingest any, although on watching her she seems pretty accurate. she has a basking log situated under the basking light. I keep the tank at a temperature of between 80 - 90 degrees during the day with the coolest area being at 80 this reduces overnight when the UV Light is turned off. Not sure what other information you may require.

When we had her in December she was around 8 weeks old but over the weeks she has grown into a lovely looking dragon. We had all the set up at the same time included UV Bulbs and Spot light bulbs.

She drinks very little which is why we put the watercress in, she runs through the dish

during the day temps should be just over a 100. Also try feeding locusts. Do you dust your crickets with vitamin powder?

I was advised by trader while Webster was young to dust each feed with powder, and yes she also has the hoppy little locusts hop everywhere they do!

looking at the temperature guage Which is a stick on gauge, although thermostate is as high as it will go, tank doesnt seem to reach over 88 any recommendation on how to get tank heating properly please.

hi there, dont put the thermostat probe directly under the basking spot, you gotta move the probe away until the correct temperature is reached at the basking point,my beardies are young and need 110 so i have the thermostat turned right up but the probe is set about 8 inches away from the basking spot so although the thermostat only goes to max 92 i still have a basking spot of 110 with 92 at the probe and goes further down till the cool end,at night i switch everything off and it stays a constant 70,hope that helps.(ps young beardies need more heat that adults)
