Default Really useful boxes...

I'm pickin up my new mack snow leo on tuesday. I'm at uni and all my spare vivs are at home, so I'm goin to get him a very useful box to live in for a few weeks til I go home....

My question is will it be ok to put a heatmat on underneath or will it melt the plastic???

Also, I'm lookin for any suggestions for my 'experiment' which is detailed in my other thread, Leo Substrate (maybe I should change the name of it ) I've not been keeping Leos for a great deal of time and would greatly appreciate the options of any of you pro's out there!

Cheers

Yep we've used really useful boxes before, with heatmats underneath with no problem.

As for substrate to be honest newspaper or kitchen roll works brilliantly in tubs and is very easy to clean too!

Maplins too, only their biggest is only 9litres (big enough for babies) but you do get 4 smaller ones with it (useful for all the odds and sods) for only £9.99. Bargain or what!

The heat matt shouldn't really get that warm anyway because it should be on a stat to control the temperature in the box...
