Default The Reptilearium Boscombe Bournemouth formerly tropical fish world

I went in this shop today, the fish were kept really well, but there were leopard tortoises in with hermanns and the bearded dragons looked a bit rough,it made me quite sad, although the staff seemed friendly,is it new people or just change of name?

They are under new ownership, hopefully any kinks will get ironed out in following months, agreed tho, they have some cracking cichlids!

What another page putting the shop down????? There's a link in the post above for anyone who wants to slur the shops name twice!!!!! Looking at the posts there must be no other shop in the whole of this country that has done any wrong. WoW!! Either that or someone seriously wants this shop out of business..

The shop no longer belongs to Rod norris as far as I'm aware, and the new owner is struggling to shrug off the reputation the shop has been given. No I don't own the shop. And when I've been to other shops of which I won't mention as I'm not looking to cause trouble for people, I have found multiple species sharing homes, last week I came across toads and frogs being kept together. 1 toad had a live frog half hanging out it's mouth. Am I the only one who see's these things or is it just this shop thats aimed at?

good he finally gave up.
i keep fish and i went there and he had a 2ft RTC in a 2ft tank it couldnt even turn around.
i bought 2 of the rarer species of frontosa off them but had to leave them there till their tank had finish cycling...well i went back 2 weeks later and they had 'died' ....basically he had sold them on for a higher price because he forgot they were mine and already bought. he was sposed to put all the fish i bought in one tank...he didnt and all i got was a venustus and a tyranachromis....not worth half as much as i paid for the fronts.

i may go down there and pay it a visit if theres a new owner. will b good to see decent fish there!

Default Reptilarium, Bournemouth

Thanks to everyone for their comments good and bad on the reptilarium (TFW). The critical comments can only help us to improve and to not repeat the same mistakes, (and to recognize those on the forum who are ill-informed) and the many positive comments will keep us enthusiastic about the work we are doing. The shop has changed ownership and management. We are still in an early phase of updating facilities which eventually will include the replacement of all vivariums and later the aquariums.
So far so good. We are working hard to ensure the very best in quality reptiles, amphibians and specialist tropical fish. Additionally the advice and friendly service is destined to become our forté. With well over 30 years experience and returning to the retail trade after working as an international public aquarium and zoo designer I believe the kowledge base exceeds that of any other outlet. The proof will be in the pudding, let's hope we don't get egg on our face!

Simon
