You're looking for the two rows of pre-anal pores that will identify whether or not the crestie is male. This thread gives details on what to look for.

Why breed an unhealthy animal? - Get the idea yet?

DO YOUR READING BEFORE YOU START BREEDING!

GlasgowGecko: IF you breed two animals and the resulting offspring exhibit reduced fitness, you MUST purge the system (this does not mean termination, but they should NEVER be bred). This is the only way to get passed it.

Is it really so hard to do some reading, use some common sense and ask a few questions BEFORE you buy the animal?

its quite noticeable, so if you cant do it theres 1 of 2 things wrong, its a female or its too young.

Well they are both 9 months old, and they have mottled spotty bellies...

I guess they MIGHT be females. Will try again later.

if there 9 months there should be some sign of a bulge for males and no bulge for females at the base of the tail

Don't worry hun, i'm rubbish at it, lol! I put one of mine up for sale a while back, no interest after one day, so decided to keep it, not very good at selling them anyway......he is actually a she, and a very pretty one! Oops!

Mind you some male pores are really noticeable. I guess practise makes perfect

We have a proven female breeder that shows a few pores When I got my first two hatchlings I was convinced they were both males, then females then males, both eventually got to adult size and were females. I think its just easier to wait and see if they develop buldges! I also bought 2 young geckos that were 99% sexed as females at 6g each, I keep thinking I can see pores on them
