Default graphic images of my leo that died yesterday

heres a few images, im waiting on the vets to get back to me for a pm, thought id see if theres any obvious signs. i have been on holiday for 2 weeks and my brother has been looking after my leos which he always does, but i came home and found duckey in this state, i do not keep any of my animals in this state before some folks start having a go. i know theres shed on her feet etc as she apparently started shedding in the morning, the only thing i can see that my brother didnt do is moist her moist box. she has lost loads of weight and she has a full tail, the picture looks like its got chunks out of it but its just where her tail is burried in the vermiculate.

Whats that in its vent? Is it trying to pass urates? The two things i'd look into would be the red sores on its tail and the green mark on the belly. I'd say what ever they are either killed it or caused it so much stress it died of shock. Does look like it was having a tough time shedding. Looks ever so slightly dehydrated. Very sad, Sorry. ben

The green mark on the belly happens when they die I think its the bladder or something along those lines I cant remember what exactly but thats what the vet told us do that wouldnt have anything to do with the death I dont think

oh heck
the dark splodge looks like either her gall bladder possibly ruptured or some other internal organ did ... that combined with the body fat loss and that she went downhill quickly would give me cause for concern
Is/was she kept on her own or with others? Would seriously recommend getting all the leo's checked and full fecals if possible to rule out anything that may affect all of them ~ and yes would definately get a pm done

She was kept on her own and always has been. i was thinking not being able to get the sehd off stressed her, also shes always had a whistle when she breathes since having her so i dont know if that was connected, i know she was line bred though.
the body fat loss could of been down to laying eggs, im still waiting for the vets to get back to me as she had to wait for 1 of the partners or something

I didnt know leos did this? I only thought they would lay eggs if they had been with a mate. Anyhoooo.....

So the green thingy could have happened after death occured, and possibly have been the cause of it. If it ruptured during the shedding process this could be the reason. However it doesnt explain the sore marks on the tail and under her bum. Where are they from? Whistling while breathing isnt going to cause external marks though is it? If it ruptured after death this would coroborate what Purple-Skyes vet says. Let us know how you get on with the PM. Ben

Dont be! Unfortunately for the OP things like this are not common! If something is ill you will see signs of it long before it will die. Everything will be fine. (As he said, he bro has done it before - there was probably not a lot anyone could do).

Nope females can lay eggs without being with a male, obviously not fertile eggs. I have a two year old who laid eggs last year and she'd never been close to a male as she's not suitable for breeding, it's just one of those things that can happen.
