Default 10 month old Rankins/Vittikins not eating

Hello all!

I am the slave to a 10 month old Rankins/Vittikins (so i am told). We moved her (been told its female because of the pores/behaviour) into a new vivarium about 2 months ago as i brought a blue tongued skink and so a new vivarium. She was on a ground floor house, but we had to move her up one, as the skink doesnt need as much heat as her.

Since then she seems to be very moody. We were told it was because of her age, then because she was going to lay eggs. She digs into her sand, and sleeps under her logs and doesnt come out unless forced. She used to eat locusts and crickets and had a very healthy appetite until around a month and a half ago. She stopped wanting to eat, and we have to syringe feed her. We have been told her fat stores are ok, and let her do what she is doing - but why has it happened in the first place? We are lucky if she eats about 4 mealworms a week now - and she hasnt been to the toilet for 4 weeks now. She doesnt appear to be bloated or in any discomfort.

She will on occasion be tempted by a waxworm, but doesnt really respond to anything put infront of her. Her eyes dont follow the food, and sometimes she even seems frightened of it.

What do we do? She hasnt shed for a while, and doesnt appear to have grown in a long time. Should we resort back to syringe feeding her food, leave her alone or what?

What is the normal behaviour for one of these lovely creatures?!

Any help whatsoever is fantastic!

Laura

if i was in these circumstances and mine was not eating correctly after trying a variety of feeds, i would collect a fecal sample and get to vets for fecal screening or i would look at environmental factors that could effect feeding such as temps ambient and basking area.
