Default male leos together???was told by rep shop owner

When i went to buy my leos yesterday, i asked what they are like together and told him that i only want one male as they will fight if together.
He told me this is all wrong? He said that one of his friends breeds hundreds on leos and has been for years now. His mate told him that he keeps all of his males at some point in the same viv.
The shop owner said that males are fine together if no females are put in with them otherwise they will fight over her?
Is this right?

in fact dont listen to rep shop owners unless they have reptile qualifications...as we all know one in manchester talks a lot of c**p. owners will sometimes do ANYTHING to get a bit of money in the till...

Yep males will usually always end up fighting. I rescued two males that were kept together for 5 years and then one day decided they didn't like each other anymore. One has a nasty scar on his back because of it.

Default Me too!

A pet shop assistant from a shop near me (well - nearish) also told this to a customer who was wanting to buy two geckos. I challenged this, but he was adamant, said he had been keeping them for years.

I find it worrying sometimes what some pet shops will tell you for a sale.

Male leos nearly always fight, even if there are no females. They fight over everything from the best basking spot to who eats the food. I think they will even fight for no reason (sp).

yeah defo not a good idea, you know what all blokes are like lol dont matter what the species are

maybe you get the odd two that will put up with eachother ok, but its extreamly rare (like 1 in 1000000 or sumink silly like that lol), more often than not, they will fight, its just not worth the risk

i find it very rare to find a pet shop who actually knows what they are talking about and has the animals best interests at heart. they are a very rare breed indeed

i think all pet shops should be checked if they know they facts and sexing pets right i know with some you can sex them at young age but saying they wont fight thats bad.
