Hello, i have a crestie who is roughly 2 and a half months old and i have been feeding him on crickets and fruit. I am trying to convert him to CGD however and i have purchased the Komodo brand. I have been mixing it with fruit to sweeten it up however he does not seem 2 want it. Should i simply stick it out and not feed him anything else untill he accepts it, or is this brand of CGD a lost cause?
It would be exxcellent if someone could give me some advice on this matter. I have searched for similar threads however my questions have not been answered fully. Thankyou Tommy |

Has he ever had CGD before? If not he be unsure what it is exactly. You could try dipping a cotton bud in it and then dabbing it on his snout. He should then lick it off and learn that it's food. Hopwfully once he has done this he will start eating it from the dish.
A very small drop of honey mixed in might get him started eating it too. Then reduce the amount of honey you put so until he eats it without any in. Good luck |

He has licked some off of my finger but he just doesnt seem 2 eat any when i leave it over night. I went 4 days without offering him anything else and then got scared and gave him some crickets which he munched down in record time. I was wondering if i should get the repashy diet instead as it is fruity?

I tried the komodo first but none of mine would touch it and it didn't smell very nice. The first oppertunity I got I switched to the Repashy all in 1 from sticky feet which I mix 70/30 with powdered nectar and all mine yum it up, it also smells of lovely bananas. Mine tend to like it a bit on the runny side but I had to do trial and error with the consistency before they truley loved it. Hope this helps.
I tried crickets and they didn't even look at them so now I don't bother |

The Komodo stuff doesnt actually look, smell or taste that nice (trust me ive tried!), this was the replacement for the Sandfire Mix that Alan Repashy used to do but he now does his own stuff which is much better.
You are better off with the 2 part diet which consists of 1 part base powder which has all the nurtients and 1 part Nectar flavour which there are loads to choose from like strawberry, bananna, rose, fig. You are best doing a 60/40 base to mix combo if solely on CGD or 50/50 if still on live food. Like previously advised go to Sticky Feet ( www.stickyfeet.co.uk ) and order some from them, although with the postal strikes you might be waiting a bit longer at the moment! ![]() All the best Gary
