Question BD Tank info on lights

When i get my BD stuff im getting a 100w bulb (day) Red or ceramic light (night) but i want them on a dimmer so if i get one habistat dimmer could i plug an extension chord into it so it monitors both my bulbs ??? also what is the difference between a normal red night bulb and ceramic??
(will have a 10.0 uvb bulb also) 4x2x2 tank

Ceramics only emit heat. If you are going to use one at night, use a ceramic.

You could but it would mean you'd have to adjust the temp on the stat every morning and night, which will be a pain in the backside. You'd be better off using two seperate stats.

TBH unless your house gets very cold at night (less than 60F in the tank) you don't really need a heat source at night.

Hope that helps.

You'll be better off having two stats than running off one stat as it will be too much hassel.

Ceramics don't emit light whereas red bulbs do and beardies can see it in the night.

As the above poster said, unless your house is very cold, you may not need additional heating.

Cheers Tung
