I have two tegus, so I'm biased.

I also like the fact that tegus eat a fair amount of fruit and vegetable matter, and are therefore a bit cheaper to feed than the insectivorous boscs.

One of our two tegus is soppy-tame. The other is a little feisty but nothing unmanageable.

Oooohhhhhh decisions, decisions
I cannot be biased as I have a trio of Boscs & a trio of Argentinian Tegus, there are pros and cons with both sp's as Ssthisto has stated. One of my Boscs is soppy tame and the other two are handleable, where as my three Tegs are soppy tame, however you can get Tegs with require a lot of work and still wont tame all the way, smimilar to Boscs, B&W Male Tegs will get bigger than Boscs in most cases, and mine have certainly grown much much quicker, as My Bog male is only just over a year and is 3.5ft, my Bosc is a bout the same age and is only 2.5ft. Tegs do have a better diet as they will eat fruits & veg as well.

So its up to you old friend

If you can adequately house and cant decide get one of each

Let us know how it goes tho.

i have both one bosc and one red tegu both very tame but bear in mind it takes hard work and pacience to get them this way! in my opinion the bosc will grow much faster is much more active all of the time very inquisitive compared to my tegu and a bosc wont burmate for months like the tegu will that said i wouldnt change either of them
