Default raising temp in igg viv

hi all
got my igg in a 4x4x2 and the ambient temp is a little low but basking spot is fine using a 60w spot!!
so i was thinking of getting a ceramic heater bulb as well as the 60w spot! does this sound like a good idea??
also how should i control the spot and ceramic heater?

1)have them both on 1 dimmer stat using a multi plug

2) have the ceramic on a on/off stat (which i have) and a dimmer for the 60w spot

3)have the ceramic on a pulse porportional stat and get a dimmer for the 60w

cheers all

if you have it on a thermostat how did it raise it too much?

because this is for an iggy, your better off with a light emitting bulb,as iggys associate light with heat.

its not on a stat (am going to get one though)! so i was going to keep the 60w spot bulb for a basking area and then a ceramic or thermotube to raise the ambient temp!! the viv is currently 4x4x2 but when the igg is fully grown he will go inyo a 6x6x3 so i need somthing capable of heating this too as dont wanna fork out again in a year or so!! lol!!
so should i get a ceramic heat bulb on a stat or a thermotube on a stat?? and which stat??
cheers

i cant help u with your current dilemma , but all i can say is u will need to buy again for the bigger tank , as i found when building my 7 x 6 x 4 , im struggling to get the correct temps , with a 100 w basking lamp and a 150 w ceramic on a pulse stat. , think for the winter months i will need to add another ceramic . but not sure , how to set it up.

p.s maybe try moving the basking lamp further away from basking spot , and put bigger bulb in.
