Help With Bosc ?

hi i recently bought a baby bosc monitor. he is doing really well eating, drinking and messing well. hes very playful and friendly but a little shy at times.
however ive noticed hes developed one blocked nostril over time. it looks like its just shed, but i didnt think they would shed like this.
any one else seen this with thier bosc and what did they do ?

if you think its shed put him in a nice lukewarm bath, deep asif you were getting in!! trust he wont drown...he will swim under the water level and if its skin it should loosen up, then when you get him out the bath rub him but not too hard with a towel and it will dislodge...

i think its shed but i cant be sure until its off :/, do you have any experience with bosc's ?

EDIT : just seen your pics and you obv do haha
have you ever seen this before ?
i dont think it could be anything else because his other nostril and mouth are really clean and clear

i have seen them have a bit of retained shed. Usually looks like a crust around the nostril

Does it look like skin?? (is it pale!!)
Also what substrate are you using??

yeah it does, seems just like you described and yeah its the same colour as the rest of his shed, and bark chippings at present. what would you reccomend ?

Well monitormad who is the daddy of monitors suggests 50%top soil 50%playsand and its brill, as sit holds its humidty they can bury themselves,

I have covered the top of mine with woodchippings so i have the sand soil mixture underneath!!

i may have to give that ago i just like the look of chippings but whatevers best for him.
ill give him regular baths and hope this clears up then. if not ill post back here again

put the chips on top like i have, i like the look of chippings but they dont hold and they like to bury, not as much fun for them, top soil and play sand is about £3 a bag from B&Q

good avice there spot on with the subsrate but i use 60% topsoil 30% play sand and 10% vermiculite for added humidity i find this works better in my bosc viv

Right my turn, someone has just come to my door with a baby bosc...who i think hasn't had the right heat as she has a bloated belly...looks like its her food has not digested properly any quick tips...ive got her in a bowl of warm water now to see if it stimulates her to empty her bowels, and im setting up the nursery viv for her to house in til i can sort his viv out!!

all tips and hints grateful
