as everyone before me says: beardies first! my OH was never keen on pet animals (he likes animals out in the wild). but now he handles all my beasties more than i do! i just get left with all the cleaning..........

maybe take your gf to a pet shop to handle a couple of different rep species - you never know, it might spark an interest in her and she might end up more of a rep fanatic than some of the people on this forum!

You should think of something tha she really loves and then tell her to get rid if it/ stop doing it and she how she likes it. When she says no and gets all upset say, well thats how I feel about my reps

im sorry but if you had the beardies when u met then she has no right to demand you get rid of them.she should know that there part of ur life.id talk to her and say either they stay or i go.

I'm suprised you moved in with her if i got that ultimatum i'd live elsewhere. If its a money thing then maybe something with a heatmat that doesn't require UV like a leopard gecko or tarantula.

If its price she's worried about, beardies are the least of your problems! If you want your beardies back, make an under the bed viv. fairly cheap to build really!

Dude, why?
Maybe I could understand if you had a huge collection, that 1 or 2 would have to go, but beardies? EVERYONE loves beardies...You can't get many lizards less demanding or tame too.

Seriously you shouldn't have to give up your pets/hobby, if they have a phobia yes but otherwise no, I mean what if you break up in 6-12months, then you;ve sold your beardies for nothing.

Pfft if I had to give up my Tarantulas to move in with them I'd just politely tell them to GTFO! More room for exotics.
heeeeyyyy females on here too lol i know ur joking but had to say it :P

see what it is about the reptiles that she doesnt like coz space and cost is a trivial reason to get rid of them, i have looooottsss now and my oh isnt too keen on them but he learnt to live with them and likes them aslong as they dnt jump on him. could it possibly be she didnt want crickets all over the house. coz there are plenty of alternative foods or reps that dnt eat crickets or any bugs i have some of them but what about something like a crestie if u get the right one she may learn to love

I'm sure if she really loves you, if you sit her down and explain they are very important to you, you could come to some arrangment.

If that doesn't work, do as others have said... DITCH HER!!!
