Receptive Cham Question

Hi All

When female chams are receptive do they go off their food?

They can do, what kind of chameleon is it? what other signs is she displaying and how old is she?

She is a Yemen cham, 10 months old.

This is the second time she has been like this ....

She went off her food 2 days ago, is bright green with orange and blue stripes and spots and she has become very restless - or rather unusually active, exploring every inch of her cage.

She is going to another home tomorrow . . . . . but im a bit reluctant to move her if she may be gravid.

Oh and her colours changed about 7 or 8 days ago.

Does she look lumpy at all? She may be about to lay. They go off their food sometimes when receptive, but more commonly just before they lay. Has she laid an infertile clutch yet? Do you have a place in her cage for her to dig and lay? If she is gravid, it is best not to rehome her just yet - she will get stressed out with the move and being gravid too will stress her even more.

Nope she doesnt look lumpy - or even like she has put on weight. And nope no infertile clutch yet.

She has a huge laying bin in her cage with her, but again - no signs of digging yet.

She may be receptive then. Lily used to wander and try to get out all the time when receptive. As soon as I opened her door with food, she would ignore the food and walk straight out up my arm!
