Wink "Herping: It's taken over my life..." discuss :)

Tonight, I sat down to watch a new film, "Ice age 3: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS".

I found that i could not watch this film without thinking random herp related things like:

"If he rolls those dinosaur eggs like that, he'll drown them",

"Hmm, the secret dinos must have survived the ice age due to the heat source provided by the secret underground lava chamber",

and

"Those dino babies would so just be eating him in his sleep"

HERPING HAS DESTROYED DISNEY'S HOLD OVER ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dunno whether im happy or sad lol.
Anyways, keeping in mind the randomly fun nature of this post lol,:

HOW HAS HERPING TAKEN OVER YOUR LIFE!!??

xx

haha I'm the same, also with inverts.

So on Harry Potter when Aragog is in it, I was like "wtf it's a male, why is it so old and why are the young in it's care?"

also in the last one when it's dead. I was like "nooo wtf don't touch it! It's on it's back it's not dead it's going to moult! If it was dead it would be the right way up with its legs curled under it! DONT DISTURB IT!!"

Being a dino geek...

The eggs might well have *needed* to be turned - just like bird eggs do.

I do have great fun watching reptile-based horror films and pointing out the problems with the animatronics / CGI.

I thought it was funny when I looked at the bulletin board at the pet shop, saw sign saying "Two Free gerbils!!! Well handled, very loving, and free!", and instantly thought "Oh perfect!!! free lizard food, I should call em!"
I would NEVER have thought anything like that before..that was a big eye opener for how lizard obsessed I was, lol.
... I think the worst part was that I did call them

For the record, we bred them, and fed their young to the lizards.
They're too old to breed now but we still have 3 adults as pets.

it don't matter what kind of shop you go in you can always find something and think, the lizards would love that to climb on/hide in.
i dare you to try it, i even did it in a chip shop with a plastic plant they had for display lol.

I actually got excited the other day when the o/h said we were making a detour to B&Q, why? you might ask well I'll tell you
I now have an obsession with casters, I use them as dishes for my geckos also I get excited in pound shops about plastic boxes that might fit in my rack and other things my reps might find useful
