if he hasn't eaten anything then he won't poo, you don't wanna force feed as it not only stresses them out but also can damage the jaw.
simply continue dripping it on the nose & he'll keep licking it off, you could try doing the same with some cgd aswell.

Hi, thanks for all the advice.

I can't remember whether the food is the komodo or the t-rex cgd, but I will try order some of the repashy stuff instead. I tried just dripping it onto his nose and seems to respond well to that so I do that in future as it seems to be less stressful to us both! I've tried him on a variety of fruit since we've had him and haven't found one he likes yet, although I haven't tried passionfruit, so maybe that's worth a go. I'll also try raising the dish some more.

Going to get him a more powerful bulb this weekend, although the vet said his temps were fine she also said raising them a bit may help his immune system fight off anything that's wrong with him.

He seems to be getting more active since we've been giving him the critical care formula but still hasn't shown any interest in food, is it working?

Thanks for your advice everyone. Can't bear seeing my little guy off his food after I'm used to him being such a pig!

I wouldn't dab it on his nose as it can get in his nostrils and can start to rot, this could lead to nose rub......anyway use a thermostat with the bulb and don't let temps get over 80F

Oh okay Chris, tbh I've heard that before, but it seemed like it was preferable to what I'm doing now. What would you recommend?

Yeah his bulb is on a thermostat and temperatures don't get above 80. However, due to the cold time of year they've slipped from about 24-26c to 22-23c so going to try and raise them up that bit. He got sick before the temperature drop but it won't be helping things.

One of mine is a right fussy madam. How i started her eating, and so i could notice to see if she actually was eating anything, was by smearing some of her food on the leaves.

If you already have the cgd, try mixing a little bit of manuka or organic honey with it to sweeten it or even some fresh pureed non citric fruit. The main thing is to get her eating to get the test done.

Let us know how it goes! x

Yeah another way of getting a feeding response is to put a drop at the corner of his moulth and as suey said maybe add a little manuka honey (only a very small amount) and maybe try mango(blended), my dylan likes a little mango keep us posted
