just a few as to why people choose to get a baby;

-pick which one you want/ selection
-no better feeling then raising an animal from young
-bond with baby from young age
-tame down much easyier
-lets face it thier cute
-adapt to routines from a young age with minimal stress

rehoming is a big commitment, and many people chose to avoid it due to some of the following reasons;

-animal may be very aggressive
-possibly poor health
-no medical history/ records
-bigger chance of animal refusing food
-may have parasites
-limbs missing due to poor care

etc etc

not having a dig at anyone just my 2p
True, rehoming is a big commitment but getting a baby one is an even bigger one.

Babies may have parasites (as nearly 100% of Boscs sold in the UK are CF or WC).

Babies from shops won't have a medical history either.

Babies grow and will need changing living arrangements and when juveniles will need a lot spent on them for a healthy diet. More so than adults.

From all the Boscs I know taming down either is or isn't going to happen, depending on the Bosc itself. Getting an adult one to calm down is no harder than a young one IMO.

Babies are cute but they also become adults, hence the market is flooded with unwanted ones.

Hi mate
You have covered most rep shops also with this statement,
I know quite a few shops where reps are are detailed below.
animal may be very aggressive
-possibly poor health
-no medical history/ records
-bigger chance of animal refusing food
-may have parasites
-limbs missing due to poor care

etc etc

Animal maybe aggressive highly unlikely you will find a calm baby/young bosc mate. I have rehomed a few monitor lizards are they are in the very best of health.

i know its a very debatable subject, there are lots of reasons for and against rehoming although my first post wasnt aimed at boscs but animals in general.

whatever you choose to do mate is completely upto you.

Look at rehoming. There's always some in classifieds.

No need to even get a baby either as they will soon need a bigger viv.

i do see were you are coming from but i have to agree that its beter to take an unwanted pet into a loveing home theres so many i would rather just rehome but at the same time shop bort has its perks

Yeah there no question about that, I wasnt disagreeing, just making a random statement.
Truth is Im getting a baby bosc from a pet shop on wednesday, I thought about rehoming and have been thinking about it for over a year, I decided to go with the shop as the owner of the shop takes my babies off of me when I breed and hes a good guy.
