It's a shame, but it IS what happens in the wild, too.

Most wild "insectivores" won't turn down a free higher-protein meal.

Interesting that you've got a Henry Lizardlover photo in your signature when he's basically described his methods of getting the lizards to pose that way ... he turns them on their backs, which causes their internal organs to press on their lungs and heart; they basically "faint". Then they're easy to position the way he wants them.

Why bring up the Henry Lizardlover thing to discredit the OP? He/She was just expressing their feelings for the fact that people are finding entertainment in Beardies eating each other.

It might happen in the wild, but in the wild they're not stuck in little glass boxes where they can't escape. Not sure there was a need for a bunch of morons to be sat around laughing and filming it. From what I can gather, that baby Beardy was actually a pet and not intended as food. A caring owner would have reacted a little differently you'd think.

Should we accept these things because they're common? Animal abuse is common; should we accept that?

I wonder about this forum sometimes and the supposed "Animal Lovers".

Can I ask where you found this information? I ran a search on this gentleman's picture-taking methods and only came up with this.

I'd seen the guy's photos before I moved over here in 1998 - and it was back on the Usenet group rec.pets.herp (I used to use DejaNews) that Henry Lizardlover posted his methods.

Now, all things considered, I did not view the video with sound, so I don't know what the guy was saying while his beardie was eating the other one. The comments he's made on other folks' comments show he does seem to be a bit of a git. But as far as it goes, if you read the comments, the owner *intended* for the smaller beardie to be eaten. It wasn't an accident, it was an intended "feed a small, sick baby beardie to the big one." Unpleasant, yes. Not personally tasteful. But not illegal where the poster comes from either.
