Default 6 Months old Beardie aggressive to other Beardie.

So, I got myself two 5-6 month old Beardies on Wednesday and up untill now they have both been totally fine with eachother. About half an hour after they woke up today I saw both of them puffing up their beards, to take in extra heat I presume, but while one of them (Trogdor) was puffing their beard the other scooted behind them and Trogdor gave them a little chase and a nip. I THINK they are both females, the guy at the shop wasn't too sure, as they are small.

I don't know if this is serious or not, it got me concerned. They're both sitting together happily now. Since I got them I have taken both out and held them many, many times.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

On another note I caught one of them waving at me for the first time about 5 mins ago!

If both of them are puffing out their beards at suggests to me that they are both boys, although you mention arm waving, which is usually a female thing it is also a sign of being submissive. Was it the one being chased that waved?

I think the best thing for you to do is to split them up. Beardies are solitary animals and although two females may tolerate living together, it is not neccesary to keep them in pairs. If they are 2 boys they will fight, and at 6 months old their male hormones would be starting to kick in which is why you may not have noticed anything before.
If they are 1 male and 1 female they would also need to be split, as males become sexually mature at a year old (sometimes sooner) whilst females are not ready until around 18months old. So the male would constantly harrass a female for naughty when she is not ready for it.

Yeah, it was the one that was chased was the one that waved. It seems the smaller one doesn't like it when the other runs about, because it happened again when the bigger was running about the Viv.

So should I possibly return one? I can't really separate them, I only have one Viv and that took up the last bit of space in my room.

You will need to take one back if you can't separate I'm afraid. Sounds like the smaller of the two is being bullied, so you should really put a stop to it asap before it gets too stressed out. Also probably best to do it sooner rather than later so you don't form too much of a bond.

I think I will give back the more aggressive one. I'll see if I can do it today.
