Default Leo checklist

Hi folks, just want to make sure i get everything so could you give this a quick glance over and tell me what/if ive missed anything.

This is to setup a 36" x 15" x 18" viv, will this be okay for the life of the leo?

Couple of other quick questions!

What kind of lighting can I use to be able to view my leo when he's out at night?

Is a staple diet of mealworms ok with the odd wax? The other half isnt keen on having crickets in the house.

Are those novelty minifridges ok for keeping live food fresh?

that seems ok but price is very steep, you could get all that stuff from pet stores/regular stores alot cheaper, i got all my silk plants from dunelm mill store and they were 2quid each, i wouldn't bother with the hides, i spent 30 quid on hides and they all preffer toilet roll tubes.
i can get a full set up including viv for the same price they are charging you simply for the contence, i would suggest shopping around.

P.S mealies as a stable diet is fine and yes they will keep in one of those mini fridges.

the exo terra rocky outcrop hide i dont beleive are big enough for geckos.they are mainly used for snakes and the entrance holes are tiny even for very small geckos.
as ginnerone has said look around ,you can get some great fake plants from ponden mill .and garden centres cheaper.the mealworm dishes just use a deep dish like a hamster food bowl £2.99 instead of 5.75 and you dont need vines for leos they can climb but are clumsy and may fall from a vine

erm, not sure if i missed it on the list, but pure calcium dust is always good. most people just pop a milk-bottle lid of calcium in the viv for leos...

I just use 2x barks (one at each end) and 1x empty upside down meal/crix box filled with damp moss, opening cut into it (ensure sides are not sharp) half on the warm so near the middle of viv for my Leo - this is the hide she spends most of her time in.

Mine wont eat meal worms unless I hand feed so her staple is locust which are much nicer than crix.

The only things you need to spend money on are the heat mat and thermostate really.

I had a light for viewing at night and never bother with it as my leo likes to be out in the early evening so I can see her. Unless its pitch black where you are keeping it I wouldn't worry.

Get some pure calcium and leave a small amout in the viv, dust food on weekends with Nutrobal.

outcrops are fine for leos, i have one in mine and they love it, plenty of room for them to get in n out so dont worry about that

as above tho dont bother with the vines or plants really, leos are from desert type areas , well clay.rocky areas with little in the way of vines etc naturally
