i have a male and a fem both brought recently and must say if your looking at buying then not much point. there very very timid and you wont ever see them. im hoping mine breed as there is a demand for them but im not holding out any hope for them. if you do breed them they lay one egg every 5 weeks. cute little guys tho just dont make the best pet. you cant handle them either as they scare very easily. they also play dead very well apparantly

The best person to speak to is Dean at crystal palace reptiles. His user name on here is something like triblonautus001. He has bred them many times
As for being pointless, what is the point in anything?, surely you buy something because you're interested in it? I have a Chinese cave gecko that I haven't seen yet. Doesn't mean there is no point in it.

Yea i know they aint common, hence why id like a pair for myself because im intrested in them and it would be for breeding if poss.
But i hardly see my one female scorp because she's a burrowing one.

I understand and i knew that they are shy after reading that up.
Yea dean is selling some on the website, not sure how many he's got tho never asked.
Trying to get my dad to build me a VIV first tho.

They're not that difficult to keep or breed if you have the setup right Import can be difficult and stressful for them, but having seen a lot of new imports, they generally cope with it very well indeed.
Keep them cool and wet - not damp, it has to be wet. They lay one egg at a time buried in the substrate which takes three to four months to hatch, the babies appear to need UV to develop and grow properly, that's something that's rarely mentioned with the care of this species. The adults may well benefit from low level UV too, but you'd have to be careful to not overheat them with it.

They grow slowly, and are pretty secretive (although the long term captive and cb ones I've met have been far better than the new wc ones).

Obviously that's just from my experience, Dean breeds them with a much higher regularity and may be able to help loads more

They don't seem pointless to me! My son wants a pair of the Tribolonotus novaeguineae though but will be getting some this year hopefully!
And when we come to buy we will more than likely be buying from Dean at CPR.

I didnt mean pointless in the fact of keeping them it came out a little wrong but if your after something you can see then these arent the best ones. There amazin little things on the rare chance of seeing them but are very very secretive so that is very rare!
