Default crested gecko health problems

Hi everyone i have a female crested gecko who has become quite poorly over the last few days first she was unable to shed (which i had to do for her) and keeping her mouth gapping and panting continuosly. She cannot gain any grip on the glass and unless we put her up in her leaves she is unable to climb. She is eating baby food daily (hand fed) but does not seem able to catch any bugs. She is also carrying eggs which i fear are unable to be expelled due to lack of energy. If anyone can help i would be very grateful

You need to get her to a vet asap, it sounds as though she is in trouble. Baby food is not a good diet for crested geckos, she could have mbd, but the gaping mouth sounds pretty bad. Being gravid too is putting an extra strain on her resources.

Sounds like pretty much everything that could go wrong for this little girl has. She should NOT be having baby food, the inability to shed could be low humidity, MBD or lack of energy, and if she's gravid on top of this, all these problems could come together to kill her.
Soz, I know that sounds really harsh and your probs just following advice you've been given, so that aside you NEED to get her to a vet. Be aware that it may be too late by now. If she's egg bound and the vet is unable to shift the eggs with meds, he'll probs recomend putting her to sleep, as any opperations to remove the eggs would be too risky with her health problems/small size.

Good Luck and keep us informed
xx

Just to say I have had a female who has had eggs successfully removed, although she was also spayed at the same time. But she will remain with me as a much loved pet

We use Clifton Villa Vets in Newquay. The reptile vet is Steve Philp. He's also the rep vet for Newquay Zoo.

Tel: 01637 851 122

As said I would get her seen asap and good luck.
