Default Gecko Shedding Problems.......cruelty? WARNING PICTURE IS QUITE BAD

A few months ago a women came in the shop saying her gecko was havin shedding problems.....no biggy i thought, thats quite a common thing. then i saw the lizard. it wasnt even her lizard, she told me her house mate stopped paying rent and moved out over night leaving his lizard, she had no idea how to look after it so she wanted some advice.

this picture was taken AFTER i had tried to help her, you couldnt not even see a face through at least 4 months of trouble shedding. her eye lids were completely fused to gether. after bout 20 minutes of dampening i managed to remove alot, however when she opened her eyes all that was there was puss. i honestly thought this lizard had lost its eyes.
the shed around the mouth had got infected to the point where she could not close it. i decided i would do nothing more incase i caused more damaged. i adviced her to go to the vets but understood if she couldnt because it would have been pricey and the lizard wasnt even hers.

i did not have high hopes for this for little guy.

well few months passed and she came back in. she DID take it to the vets, cost her a fortune but the gecko pulled through, back to eating normally. she ofcorse has scars around her mouth but they have healed fine.

i was so impressed by this lady doing this that she gets all her food free now from us. she took in this animal that wasnt her responsibility and nursed it back to care.

as for the room mate, well he doesnt pick up the phone when i ring him and no1 seems to know where he is, trust me if i find him i will let him be known to the RSPCA and Police.

horrible story but happy ending.

Fair play to her seriosuly, you dont come across too many people like this anymore so when you do you have to pat them on the back. And fair play to you too for helping her and also giving her free food, tis a bad story with a great ending.

great stuff for helping out and even more kudos for giving her free food for life!

Shows that there are some shop owners that care.
