I know that feeling

I wouldn't advise housing more than one individual in the same viv it is possible, and sometimes two or more females will get on just fine, but they can suddenly turn and become aggressive to one another

hummm general things:
  • day time temps not above 83F nor below 70F
  • a night time drop can be provided but isn't necessary (no lower than 60F for prolonged periods of time)
  • Feed CGD, and dusted + gutloaded livefood (you can just feed CGD but livefood will add some mental stimulation)
  • You should house a hatchling or juvi in a faunarium until it grows a little so it can easily find its food. An exo terra 45cm, 45cm, 60cm is fine for one adult crestie.
  • you will need to mist at least once a day so that the humidity remains fairly high (for a hatchling twice a day).
  • for the first month I would advise you use kitchen roll for substrate so that you can easily monitor faeces.
  • Don't handle your crestie in the first week.
  • you can feed CGD in a small milk bottle cap so that you can see any lick marks.
  • watch out for your little one finger painting with its CGD rater than eating it

theres loads more but I hoped this helps and if you have anymore questions just ask

Chris

They both have their advantages and disadvantages, in general though a male will cost you £50 upwards, and a female can be about £120 upwards. I personally would advise getting an unsexed one as they are cheaper and are a total mystery

There is loads of ways to feed livefood, most people put a few in the viv in the evening and remove any uneaten ones by morning, I personally feed in a separate container. Each to their own really.

i use paper towels wiv all my geckos

If I had a pound for every time someone asked this I would have a zoo :P

Ok firstly I would say a big NO to baby food, baby food is for human babies . For a new keeper I would strongly suggest you use CGD (crested gecko diet, preferably get the repashy stuff) as it is formulated for cresties and (use this phrase loosely) contains all the nutrients they need. Of course it is possible to feed baby food if it is totally organic, no citrus fruits, etc but you would have to supplement with the correct levels of nutrients to ensure your gecko remains healthy. Unfortunately this is very hard to do.

You can order repashy CGD from pangea, or from stickyfeet (if you look in the food classifieds someone is usually selling some there :2t

Make sure you look at lots of caresheets and not just talk to the petshop as most petshops don't have much of a clue when it comes to cresties :bash:

thanks
debz

Hope that helps, here are some useful caresheets for you to read:
Pangea Reptile Crested Gecko Care
Crested Geckos

Any questions just ask
