Default dead cricket feed?

Are dead crickets that are sold dead the same as live crickets nutrition wise? as mine eats the dead ones when some die so she wouldnt have a problem eating just the dead ones saves me buying them and then they die on me.

What do people think? any one feed their beardies on dead ones?

They ain't freeze died they are retorted (cooked in the can) and are apparently just as juicy as live/died in the tub the night before. The main problems are theres no hunting or catching them, so no exercise for the reptile; and that they could be loaded with god knows what.

Can you get something to dust a can full?

I am not too worried about the exercise bit as she comes out the viv every day so gets enough exercise and she does not like chasing the cricks around her viv anyway.
I was thinking of using the dead tinned ones or vacuum packed one ones as her staple diet and give her live locusts 3 times a week?

Because they just seem to keep dying even if I have only had them for one or two days :S

you can feed them but i would not use them as a staple diet

have used when i was away as my freind does not like them and mu colection as just fine but that was only ten days

I get what you mean - I will be introducing both into my new Leo's food and seeing how that pans out, but I could see most lizards wanting it live as apposed to dead, dispite roughly the same nutritional value

I will give it a go she is not very keen on them she eats from a tub anyways so she doesnt run around catching them and when one escapes she doesnt run after it :S think she is a bit spoiled lol.

Any good sites that sell good canned food?
