i'm only guessing that i've got this right but in the winter months they brumate as it gets colder. You can shorten the length of time that you have the lights on to about 10 hours so it gets darker earlier.
Also pretty sure that you don't have to do it and can keep all the lights and heat on the same all year through.

Animals hibernate / brumate due to the natural condition and change in weather rather than because its something they do... possibly to do with their food source becomming scarce during winter..

i could be wrong though as its what i've picked up, i'm no expert!

the temp will naturally drop in temp because the air temp drops. i personally shorten the days around october but i depends where the animal is from.

i personally just let things happen naturally. winter gets colder and so do the vivs. i also think it's benificial to the animals to have day light hours that differ depending on the time of the year but again it's all personal preference.

I agree, I drop my temps and hours of day light for my water dragon.

For september my max temp is 89 and min is 76 tho I will be dropping that a couple of degrees over the next few months. Still keep the humidity at a max tho

you could always get a ceramic bulb in there for the night, just incase it gets too cold!

you can controll the temp then

Yeah thats what i do too. from the research I have done most people like to keep the day temps around 90-92 (basking spot) and night temps around 75 -78. Tho it does drop as low as 50 degrees in some parts of asia where Water dragons are known to live. But your sure to wake up with a grumpy lizzard lol.
