After feeding my Beardie this afternoon, some crix managed to escape. I have only just this moment managed to catch one (out of pure luck), but I am sure another 2 or 3 escaped.
What traps can I set to catch them? Last edited by Andy1987; 12-05-2012 at 11:03 PM.. |

I use a Jack russel personally ![]() You could try a shoebox with a hole cut in side, then put a jam tar lid in with some peanut butter / food. You'll have to keep checking it though. If you put in a toilet roll holder then crix might stick around for a while.

you can get insect traps. dont know they attract them but they do and they stick to them.
you can get like 500 for a tenner. you will be surprised what gets on them as well lol

Wait till they start chirping in the middle of the bloody night - then get out of bed and creep quietly towards the noise with a torch (turned off). When you think you have homed in pretty close to said cricket turn on torch/light and chase around after it like a mad woman.
Works for me ![]() |

I'm sure there is another one hiding behind the TV cabinet, but I can't find it! |

![]() We woke up on new years day to the realisation that our 2.5 year old boy had decided he was going to get up prior to us at between 6-7 am and feed out beardie through the glass. He had found the hidden tub of crickets (adult black crickets) and decided to tip out on lounge floor in order to feed them to the beardie (tub purchased on new years eve so it as full). We spent an hour getting as many as we could they were everywhere, and then about a further week before we stopped seeing any more!! we just collected them as we saw them.
