Default I am looking to set up a chameleon enclosure.

Hi all

I am not new 2 the keeping of reptiles however i no nothing about chameleons but would love 2 have 1 and a perfect setup 4 him/her.

So thats where i am hoping that the peaople on here that succsessfully keep a chameleon could help me.

I am interested very much so in keeping a chameleon so does any1 have any kind of tips/hints/websites on the "ideally perfect setup" for 1 of these amazing reptiles.

I am not just asking without doing my research, its just i had a few mishaps with the buying of my dragons setup's through my local pet store and am looking 4 the experts help, the ones who actually have chameleons.

Thanking u all very much, Fraser Wilson

Ohh and what a cool forum

175 gallon exo terra flexariumbuy it from surreypetsupplies website its alot cheaper on their
then get a uv fitting and a uvb light 5.0 %
a basking light and bulb
lots of branches and plants and stuff like that
no water bowl cos you have to spray the foliage everyday for them to drink from
and then just get some themometers to check all the temps and a habistat to control the temp

then all you need is your veiled chameleon whioch is the best starter cham

What is the best lighting?

Would this be ok as i have orders 2 and a spare 1 for my dragon.
Mega-Ray European High Voltage (HV) SB 100watt - 220volt flood UVB lamp - ReptileUV

Iknow it is a usa site and i stay in uk but its cheap and deliver to uk, plus thats the only placa i could find them bulbs.

And also if that light is ok do i need any other lighting?

If bulb above is not ok then what lighting do u suggest.

Thanks.

there are 2 places in the uk that sell mega rays for around £50. i wouldnt advice using a flexararium for a yemen/veiled because they need high humidity. you'd be better off getting a wooden viv and replacing the glass with mesh. flexi's are better for panther/jacksons chams
will take a pic of my cham viv so you have an idea.
