Default New Leopard Gecko advice

Hi, just got a leopard gecko (3rd hand) - she is about 3 years old and apparently hasnt been that well looked after. She has some toes missing and no claws. She has also got an abcess on her belly. Visited the vet and got antibiotics. Also changed her substrate from sand to beech chips. She doesn't seem too lively and hasn't eaten since we have had her. Was on locust which we still offer her and have also offered her brown crickets and meal worms. Not seen her drink either. Is this just settling in/stress from move. Any advice would be great. Also spent money on new heater and thermostats as tank wasnt that hot either.

hi welcome , you could try some repto boost make up some and give her a bath this will help with hydration and her appetite, get yourself some meal worms count them into a bowl so you can see if any have gone dust them with calcium and also put a milk bottle top of calcium in the viv, i would use kitchen roll as a substrate for now give her meal worm every day and crickets ever 2 days

Hope that helps

Paul

thanks for advice. Is it a problem if the meal worm get loose into his viv? another reason why I don't like the beech substrate as they hide! so will definitely try kitchen paper. I've also been looking at reptile carpet. Is this worth buying. Other people say lino?

I use lino, it's permanent and easy to clean, no bugs can hide it in it and no risk of claws getting caught or impaction
