Im guessing you know calci-sand is a no no as you're mentioning it.. :S Your petshop wants to make money.

Google "Leopard Gecko care sheet" and if yo have more questions after reading one, ask away..

I've read a few caresheets already but they seem to contradict each other. Thats why I thought I would ask on here.

Hello and welcome to the leo side

they require a minimum of 36"x18x18 for a single. No lighting required as they are nocternal and bright lights can damage their eyesights.

A heatmat -costs around £15 - is the heat they require. You may need a stat. The hot end needs to be around 90f, my mat caps at 90f so I don't need a stat. You need a moist hide - can be made from the containers crickets etc come in, a hole cut in the side with kitchen roll/moss/ecoearth to keep it humid. This helps with shedding. You also need at least one other hide in there. I use those logs and mount them on something so they can go underneath.

Substrate needs to be something solid - especially for younger geckos - so kitchen roll, lino, repticarpet etc to completely remove the risk of impaction. Any other questions don't hesitate to ask

Welcome again

use kitchen towel for young ones because they can eat the calci-sand and die of impaction
