I'm a sucker for white sideds. I nearly purchased one about eight years ago and have forever kicked myself for not getting him and drooled over everyone I've seen since (all few of them!). Do you go to the shows much? I'm one of those frustrating non drivers who has to scrounge lifts everywhere but manage to get to most shows. I have been seriously considering black rats for years. What matings are you plotting with yours?

Ahhh just a rebel at heart! Like to stick up for the underdog, but hate to have it thrown back in my face when that person gets hypocritical! Black rats are doable, if you like hypos and leucistics that is (or a 2010 female normal het whitesided that's for sale lol).

What do I owe you for that? LOL. I concur, feel the same about your posts, so thank you! xx

Ohhh thank you, and I'll keep an eye out for females for you! DavidR currently has some eggs cooking which were produced by a sibling of one of his falsies that birthed hypos last year. So there is the possibility he'll have some in this clutch, due to hatch in about 2 weeks.

Haha let's hope so. She even let me handle her during her last shed without kicking up a fuss so I'd like to think this bodes well for me

Thanks very much, I'll certainly keep that offer in mind. Of course, if you guys are ever up this way let me know as you'd be more than welcome to come and see my mini-zoo.

Yeah I think there needs to be more information like yours out there so that people know exactly what they are getting themselves into. I've heard numerous stories myself about people buying one and not being able to deal with them. I must admit, your mentioning of how your female started off calm but then began to have her 'moments' caught me off guard - I'd love to think that the wonderful temperament of my female stays consistent! I am interested in breeding them in the future but I'm specifically after a hypo male; should you come across one in your line of work would you mind giving me a shout?

Haha good stuff. It's exactly the same with my girl - she's as calm as anything until the smell of prey is in the air, and then she starts thrashing about her rub like a maniac!

    Hi there,
I just wanted to say that your FWC caresheet is great - one of the best I've come across, for sure! How's your male coming along?

theyre 2 weeks old, they have their eyes open, and they can walk. im not sure if they feed on solids yet though. theyve only been taken off her tonight, when i was round there earlier, she was picking them up with her mouth and being rather motherly lol.
if she can get the babies back and it goes ok, im planning on waiting till shes nursed these babies up to when they can be taken away. and then waiting about a week, so shes had about 5 weeks rest from having the babies.
