Bumping!

Please note the rule about 'bumping':

''If you bump your thread excessively it will be locked, not more than once in 24 hours.''

Unfortunately, more and more people have been excessively bumping their classifieds recently. This then causes other members to do the same in a bid to keep their ad on the first page. This only clutters the classified forums with needless posts, and is making it harder for members to view classified forums, and animals for sale.

As a result, we will now be actively enforcing the locking rule on members who excessively bump their threads. Members who also make multiple threads in order to escape the bumping rule, will also find their threads locked, and may have their priveledge's to the classified forums removed.

It is not something that we enjoy enforcing, but as the forum is growing, we are finding it a more common problem than we would like, and it has reached the stage that we now have little choice other than to enforce this rule.

We would also appreciate it if members would report threads where they see excessive bumping, so that we may keep the classifieds as clutter free as possible. This also includes members who give 'free bumps', this is also against the rules im afraid.

In short, we want to keep the classified forums as useful as possible to members, but we need help from members to keep the forums as free as possible of needless posts.

We thought that we would add some additional information / clarification on what we will class as bumping.

The following will be classed as 'Bumping'

- 'Sent / Replied to PM' - If posted excessively

- 'Still available'

- Adding 'additional' information / pictures to a thread regularly. (Adding info to a thread if it was missed out to start with is acceptable. Adding info to a thread at regular intervals throughout the day is not).

- 'Can't believe no one has bought this yet' By OP or another member.

- Posting to say you will check something and report back - That can be done via PM or only replied once you have the info to answer the question.

- Replying to someone who has posted 'Nice snake / Lizard / Tort / Rat / Shoe / Bagpipes' etc etc etc with 'Thanks' etc.


We will not always immediately close a thread where this is done, this is only a guide as to what we do class as bumping and will close threads if any of the above are used excessively and/or in addition to daily bumping.

Also, if we close your thread, moaning at us via PM to complain that you have seen loads of other people doing the same thing will NOT get your thread re-opened. If you see people bumping excessively... REPORT IT using the post report option. ->

It would seem that some people are of simple mind and/or just like to push the rules just that little bit too far!

You may not bump a thread more than once every 24 hours, that starts from the moment you create a thread. Just so we are 100% clear, if you create a thread at 0900hrs, you cannot bump it until 0900hrs the following day!
