New Owner

Hi everyone, after months of careful consideration I am now the proud new owner of LEO a Giant Bearded Dragon Lizard (Red Phase). He's fantastic, only 9 weeks old and I have had him since Sunday - 4 days. I think I have everything under control, housing, heating, lighting &, feeding so no worry's as yet on that front. I take him out a couple of times a day and just let him sit on my hand or put him on my chest/shoulder. My first, of probably many queries is: when I do take him out, how long at a time should I keep him out for? At the moment, until he gets used to me I keep him out for probably about 5-10 minutes. Look forward to your advise.

Hi there,

congrats on your new lizard.

I dont know too much about beardies etc, but as with any reptiles you should really leave him a week or so to settle in before trying to handle him.

Thank You -I am obviously trying to tame him as soon as possible. He dosent seem too bothered, he is even taking food from me already.
