Corn snakes, leopard geckos and bearded dragons are all good starter reptiles. But it depends what you want out of your reptile? i.e being able to handle lots, display animal etc.?

A corn snake is a great starter snake. There are plenty of care sheets both on here and on the net. They are quite calm (in the main) and don't seem to mind too much if they are handled regularly. They come in plenty of nice morphs, and even the normal phase is pretty. They are not to expensive when buying, you can start them off in RUBs (Really useful boxes) that start at about £3-£4.
There are plenty of breeders and knowledgeable peeps on here who will be happy to help you with. Good luck!!
