Default Silly question???

Sorry about this guys if it sounds like a silly question, but iv been dealing with snakes and lizards at college for the last year and have decided to get my own beardy!
The question is, keeping the basking laps on at the right temp and for most of the day will this cause are electricity bill to shoot up???? The last thing i want is to set a beardy up at home and the electricity bill to shoot up loads and my parents go mad!

Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but one i need to know before buying the bits i need!

Cheers guys!

basking lamps are just the same as spot bulbs, it will be like leaving your light on all day, not much at all

another thing to consider is a stat which can be set on a timer or you can get ones that turn the light off and one when the temp rises or falls too much. although they can be quite expensive. you can get a timer one for 30 or just a normal plug timer from b and q.
