Default Hoggie?

HI people i have a corn snake atm and considering a western hognose i have read several care sheets and they are seeming cooler and cooler each time.
I believe if i get one ide keep it in the largest funarium but was wondering what to feed it?
Is it similar to what i fed my corn through its earlier days?
and could some one please explain whether i need a digital thermometer or anything

thanks fraser

They are very nice snakes to own, alot of character. Firstly of course you need a thermometer, and a thermostat! They eat pinkies when small, and later mice/rats.
What have you been reading? Any decent caresheet would have told you this!

Hoggies are pretty much the same as a corn in respect of husbandry. Avoid a large enclosure when young, as this will usually stop them from feeding. Just remember though that hoggies are a rear-fanged species, and although bites are rare, and usually as a result of a mistake by the keeper, some quite nasty bites have been documented from them.

When I have had baby hoggies i normally keep them in a small tub (i.e the smallest faunarium) with just a decent layer of aspen and a water bowl! when they are that size they tend not to move much and just stay buried!
