Unhappy trouble with ceamic heat bulb and placement

hi there im having trouble figuring out where abouts to install my cermic bulb fitted with a lucky reptile thermo socket. i have a 4 x 2 x 1.5 wooden viv and will be housing my first baby beardy, im also worried about the height of the ceramic bulb from the floor, is there a required distance from the floor? also should i mount the thermo socket through the top panel of the viv or mount it on a bracket on the ceiling of the viv?? sorry for all the questions
thanx

depends on how high your basking log/rock is it needs to be about 12 inches from the top of that as its the basking tempreture thats important
basking temp needs to be about 105f
hot end in the 90s cool end around 80/85

You could always make a tripod out of wire coat hangers and play around with the positioning until you get the temperatures you desire.

Hi, mate, here's were mine is.

I use mine as back up at night if the temp drops below 60f.

I don't believe in using a ceramic as the main heat source as it leaves the viv too dark.

Custom Guards: Ceramic Heater Guards, Spotlight Guards, Vivarium Heater and Light Guards, Reptile Heating and Lighting Guards, Vivarium Supplies, Reptile Accessories, Vivarium Setup Accessories, Reptile Housing: Herpetology do very inexpensive guards that could save your snake burning himself on the ceramic you have there.
