Default heat mat ???

I was wondering, i have a heat mat at the bottum of my tank, but i feel that the heat is not reaching the top areas where my frog spends most of his day. is it possible 2 take the mat of the bottum and place it on the side? Or would it not stick to the side? should i just buy a new 1?

Heat mats arnt designed to heat the air, only the substrate. Im not too sure about the care of frogs so i cant comment on where to put it. Hopefully someone will help

Hi,

yes the mat can be attached to the side of the viv like a radiator no problem.
It gets warm and will warm its surroundings.

It may be advantageous (depending what you have your frogs in) to have a low wattage bulb over the tank to provide alittle more daylight warmth. It really depends what the thermometer says.

what kind of tank are your frogs in?
If glass then i'd advise putting the heat mat on the outside on the side of the tank. this'll stop the frogs sitting on the mat and getting burns.

if its wood it'll need to be inside which unfortunately means it'll have to be on the bottom with substrate on top.

hopefully you'll have glass

surely the frog will move to an area where it feels most comfortable. so if its in the top then let it be. if you move the mat it will obviously move to another area where its cooler.
