Question Royals soaking

Hi..new Royal girl was in her water dish tonight..suspect she is about to go into shed as dulled, eyes still clear tho..why do they soak?

They usually soak when they are going into shed,but they also just like to chill in their water bowl sometimes..

It would be worth checking for mites as well - small black dots that sit often around the eyes and in the skin folds under the jaw. Snakes will soak themselves to relieve the irritation of mites, so it's good to rule it out as the problem.

My Nathan is a bit 'special', didn't even think to soak himself and then had a bad shed..
