i would not recommened a water dragon as your fist lizard. dont get me wrong there great lizards, but require a hig level of care and are alot more prone to things like nose rub/mouth rot if the in correct care is given. bearded dragons make great pets and are ideal for begginers.

Water Dragons aren't as 'steady' as Beardies as pets, but there's no reason why you shouldn't get one as long as you do your homework.
That size viv will be fine for two babies, but they are very difficult to sex at that age, so be prepared for them to both to turn out to be males or a pair (they'll need splitting up if that is the case). Personally I'd just go for one.

Try to find a cb baby, as they are less prone to nose rub - any adults that you find will be captive farmed (CF) or wild caught (WC) and far more prone to problems, mainly nose rubbing. Unless of course you find a unwanted pet which may well be older and you'll have a fair idea of the history.

As an adult it'll need a far taller viv than a beardie, but take well to planted and decorated vivs so your imagination can go a little wild!

As water dragons are arboreal they would need a higher viv. For babies 3ft high is minimum. They for adults 6ft high is needed. x

2' is fine for a tiny baby, they're only 2-3" (body length) when they hatch! You can easily give them everything they need in there for now, but it would definatley need to be upgraded as they grow.
Although if you're handy with that sort of thing, you can easily stand the viv on its end and make a new door/doors for it.

Talking Water dragons.

I have water dragon and he just as nice as my beardie try getting slightly older dragon than a tiny baby as you could loose them due to illness, mainly impaction or MBD so try go for a water dragon that a little more established. My baby has not been to well lately due to the mites in his tank and he has broken his wrist an old war wound from when he had MBD before. Glad to say he on his way to full recovery and sat on me shoulder now having snuggles. I love my Water dragon and out of all the reps I have I must say this one has the better personality, and is the friendliest rep on 3 legs at the mo, till his other one gets better. x

Do alot of reading and good luck with whatever you decide to get. All reps are different and all need different things. The only thing is you wont stop at one we have a zoo of the little critters now.

done some research and have decided that for now a beardie is probably the best option, due to the very likely possibility of moving in the next year so being able to upgrade to a viv for the requirments for a water dragon could be hard, but that is not saying i wont get a water dragon once the move is done... i have actualy fallen in love with the lil fellas but also the beardies look like they are full of charcter and charm like ther elil mishivious faces altho is it me but dnt they look half grumpy
