Default Advice

I've recently moved my tropical fish tank up to my Dad's house to make room for a reptile house at my place. (something I've always wanted to do again) I say that because I used to have a bearded dragon when I was young, but even so, I still regard myself as a newbie as It was my parents who cared for the Beardie back then.

I'm looking for something it not terribly difficult to keep, and would live happily in a vivarium of around L90 cm x W60/70cm although the width isn't fixed.and I have room to go 50cm high. I would also want something that I would be able to get out reguarlly and allow to free run around the room. Unfortunatley I don't know that that size of vivarium is big enough for a bearded dragon (What are Lepoard Gekkos like to keep?)

I have also thought about a tortoise, but am becoming increacingly aware that a tortiose tray is more suitalbe than a vivarium - will post more questions in the appropiate boards.

YT :o)

. Leopard geckos are great to keep. I have 6 so far. But would easily get more if i had the room. They are very cute and are easy to keep so long as its done correctly. They only require a heat mat conected to a thermostat. Where as most other reps require basking lamps and uv lights. They are a great starter lizard. x

beardies need a 4foot long viv and can come out to run around under supervision. leos are great but not often active in the day. mine is sweet and likes being handled but i would lose her if i let her run loose. beardies are more comical and interesting imo and need a basking bulb and uv light whereas leos would do well with a heatmat.
